The P1 why is it different The P1 is different from our previous ski both in its performance and construction. The free board is 15 mm lower, this means you are seating deeper in the water than before, this in turn makes the craft more stable, and we know how everyone likes the max in stability. The bow is a lot higher and narrower, and you will also notice how square the front is compared to other skis. You will also see the steep angle of the deflector. These changes allow you to go out through big waves much quicker, the angle of the deflector takes away that slapping noise that is also the cause of drag therefore the craft is released quicker and you can indeed paddle down the back of the wave, yet unlike other manufactures we have opted to retain the baulk of the deflector, it will come into play when you really need it. The turning and manuverability is greatly improved, as is top speed and the ability to catch runners. The tail has been remodelled in such a way that it is more efficient, when you put the hammer down the craft will respond by lifting the tail up 15mm this in turn creates less drag and in conjunction with the squarer front that has added 180mm in useable waterline equates to a faster ski The construction of the p1 is also different, as before it is still 100% vacuum infused with solid glass no cheap resin soaked stiffeners are used. Closed cell foam strong back runs ¾ the length of the ski. The single biggest problem with any ski no matter who the manufacture is are rail splits. We have developed a new way to join our ski’s that will greatly reduce them and add strength and stiffness all at the same time. Many people that paddle the p1 for the first time compare it to a carbon ski because of the stiffness, others think it is well under weight because it is so free and easy to paddle and is so responsive. The only way to find out is to paddle one. |
