By adopting the following practices; you will ensure your Hayden Board is always in great condition and performing to it's fullest potential. You will also have a board that will last longer, look better and (when the time comes to buy a new Hayden) will have a greater resale value. • Fibreglass requires up to 2 weeks to "cure" fully (that is, to achieve it's maximum strength). Ideally then, you should continue to paddle your old board for 1-2 weeks after receipt of your new one. And avoid if at all possible, paddling a new board in big seas for this period. • Wash the board down with fresh water after use. • Keep out of direct sunlight wherever possible.
• At carnivals:
1. Lay upside down (in the shade if possible). 2. If no shade is accessible place the board under a cover 3. Wet your board down to cool it every 20-30 minutes 4. On windy days secure the board down or lay it into the prevailing wind.
• Always transport and store boards in a cover where possible. Foil or towelling covers are available from Hayden Surfcraft. Foil although more expensive provides improved padding and protection. • Should you hole or damage your craft wash it with fresh water immediately and return it to Hayden Surfcraft for repairs. We now have a specialist repairer on the team who will ensure you get a professional repair and are back on the water as quickly as possible. When transporting your board we suggest "flat" tie downs (or straps) as opposed to rope. Additional padding on your racks can also help. Tie downs are available from Hayden Surfcraft. • Once every 6 months we recommend you bring your board back to the factory for a check up. Where we will inspect your board thoroughly and provide you with a free, no obligation service report. Should you require any further information regarding this or any other matter concerning Hayden Surfcraft, please call. We would love to hear from you.
Happy paddling, Mick, Graham and the team |
